These Halloween mashed potato ghost appetizers are really a cinch to make and what kid doesn’t like mashed potatoes? Make them small enough to eat in one or two bites!

Perfect for a Halloween dinner or kid’s party, arrange on a decorative Halloween platter.

Ingredients:

  • Instant mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 19-ounce can black beans, drained
  • Instructions:

  • Follow the directions on the instant mashed potatoes box and make about four cups worth. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Scoop the potatoes into a pastry bag without a decorator’s tip or simply use a plastic baggie with a corner cut out.
  • Squeeze the ghosts onto a lightly buttered cookie sheet so they stand upright.
  • Insert two black beans into the top of the potato mound to represent the ghost’s eyes.
  • Just before serving, warm the ghosts in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for about 5 minutes.
